Chief Executive Officer (ABM Wilayah Sabah) oversees the overall company activities align with the vision and mission in developing the education and skills training agenda at the national and international levels, which includes:
Leadership
- Direct the company in keeping with the vision outlined for the company by the Board of Directors.
- Develop the vision and strategic plan of the ABM Region under his/her leadership.
- Act as a professional advisor to the Board of Directors on all aspects of ABM activities.
- Act as a spokesperson for ABM (depending on relevant matters).
- Represent ABM in activities both domestically and internationally to enhance ABM’s image
Operations planning and management
- Develop ABM’s operational plan that contains goals and performance targets to achieve the organization’s strategy.
- Ensure the effectiveness of ABM’s operations.
- Draft policies and procedures for the approval of the Board of Directors.
Program planning and management
- Plan, implement and evaluate training programs and services offered by ABM.
- Ensure that programs conducted by ABM contribute to ABM’s mission and reflect the organization’s current priorities.
Human resource planning and management
- Identify ABM’s human resource needs.
- Recruit, interview and select key management or position staff who have the technical and personal capabilities to achieve ABM’s mission.
- Ensure that ABM has and implement training and development plans required by staff.
- Implement the performance management process for all staff on an ongoing basis and conduct annual performance appraisals.
Financial Planning and Management
- Prepare a comprehensive budget.
- Approve expenditures within the scope of authority delegated by the Board of Directors.
- Manage the organization’s financial aspects within an approved budget.
- Prepare comprehensive income and expenditure reports on a consistent basis for the CEO of CIDB Holdings and the Board of Directors.
Community Relations & Advocacy
- Establish strategic relationships and good collaboration with community groups, government agencies and other organizations to achieve the goals of ABM
Requirement
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
- Over 15 years of work experience with minimum 7 years of management experience.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership typically with a strong track record business management
- Demonstrates strong financial literacy, with the ability to interpret financial statements, manage budgets, and make sound financial decisions aligned with organizational goals
- Knowledge of human capital development.
- Knowledge of project management techniques, quality assurance, training and development.
- Relevant work experience in the construction industry is an added advantage.
- Demonstrate effective leadership characteristics and behaviors.
- Positive working attitude.
- Strong sense of integrity, result oriented and capable to work under tight deadlines.
- Good command of written and spoken in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Good presentation and communication skill with ability to interact with all levels.
- Willingness to work for longer hours. Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Manage and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work across organizations and interact or influence effectively with industry leaders and professionals.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical and decision-making skills
- Proven verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences, convey complex information in an easily understandable manner, and prepare and deliver presentations to the Board of Directors.
- Ability to manage and monitor multiple projects in line with strategy, strategic decision-making, and proven project management skills
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, email management, web browsing and familiarity with video conferencing.
- Must be willing to be based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
- The position is in contract basis (2 years), and renewable with consideration to be absorbed to a permanent position if suitable.
- Possess own transport with a valid driving license and willing to travel.
