CIDB Green Card Course
What Is CIDB Green Card?
According to the CIDB Act 520, all construction personnel are required to be registered with CIDB Malaysia before they are allowed to perform any construction works on site. The CIDB Construction Personnel Registration Card, popularly known as the “CIDB Green Card” is a card issued by CIDB Malaysia as evidence that the card owner has registered with CIDB Malaysia and is eligible to perform construction works at any construction site.
This card can only be applied by construction personnel who have attended the Safety Induction Construction Worker (SICW) Course. The benefits of having the CIDB Construction Personnel Registration Card (Green Card) are: –
- Recognized as a valid Construction Personnel by CIDB Malaysia
- Knowledge of basics occupational safety and health of construction sites
- Obtained an Insurance Protection Plan

What Law Says
Under CIDB ACT 520, Section 33 (1) stated – A person shall not be involved or engaged or undertake to be involved or engaged as construction personnel unless he is registered with the CIDB Malaysia and holds a valid certificate of registration issued by CIDB Malaysia under this Act.
Failed to comply, according to CIDB Act 520 :-
- Section 33 (4) – “A person who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding Five Thousand Ringgit (RM 5,000.00)”
- Section 33 (6) – “Any person who engages a construction site supervisor or skilled construction worker who is not accredited and certified by the Lembaga to carry out any construction work shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding Five thousand Ringgit (RM 5,000.00)”
